It is a remarkable part of the world, where you feel like part of something vast and every moment here feels unique. Our guide was excellent, and within the first few minutes it was clear that the walking here would be full of extraordinary views and strong emotions.<\/p>\n<p>The route started in Terskol, a friendly little village that serves as the trailhead for many walks in the area. We were met by clean mountain air and green forest with streams and waterfalls hidden inside it. The climbs are gentle and give you time to adjust to the altitude, which makes trekking in the Elbrus region comfortable even for beginners. Every bend in the path opened up something new, from thick woodland to glaciers glittering in the sun. One of the strongest impressions was the Azau glacier, powerful and imposing, mesmerising in its sheer scale.<\/p>\n<p>The organisation deserves a mention of its own, because every detail had been thought through. We had time not only to walk but also to rest and take in the landscape around us. Each climb revealed views that reminded me of shots from a Patagonia trip: grand mountain ridges, snow-covered peaks and astonishing glaciers. Yet the Elbrus region has a character all of its own. These valleys feel as though they are keeping ancient secrets, and you can sense the deep spirit of the Caucasus in them.<\/p>\n<p>Trekking in the Elbrus region is not simply a walk in the mountains; it is a genuine journey towards yourself. The scenery is so immense that you forget every worry and feel only the grandeur of nature and gratitude for being part of this place. And although the world holds plenty of stunning routes, Patagonia tours among them, this trek surprised and moved me even more.
