After the flight to Tumlingtar the route passes through Sedhuwa, Tashigaon, Kauma and the Barun valley to the base camp of the fifth-highest mountain in the world.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Makalu Base Camp at about 4870 m<\/li>\n<li>A quiet route away from the main tourist trails of Nepal<\/li>\n<li>The Barun valley, rhododendron forest, waterfalls and glacial terrain<\/li>\n<li>Views of Makalu, Everest and other peaks of eastern Nepal<\/li>\n<li>A mix of simple lodges and campsites on the remote section<\/li>\n<li>The domestic flights Kathmandu &ndash; Tumlingtar &ndash; Kathmandu are included<\/li>\n<li>A Mountain Guide team leader with groups of four participants or more<\/li>\n<li>A Nepali guide for groups of up to three participants<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The route suits participants with experience of multi-day walking, good endurance and a readiness for long stages, altitude, rocky trails and basic conditions.
