Not every trip in this catalogue has a summit in it. The adventure programmes are journeys \u2014 wildlife, landscape and culture, on itineraries designed around what you want to see rather than how high you want to get. They are run by the same company and often by the same people, and they are frequently booked as the second half of a climbing trip, but they are separate products with their own pacing, their own seasons and their own logic.<\/p>\n

East African wildlife<\/h2>\n

The savanna circuits are the classic form. Tanzania<\/a> and Kenya<\/a> cover the great grassland ecosystems and the migration corridors that run between them; Uganda<\/a> adds forest and wetland habitats that the drier southern parks do not have. For primate-focused travel, Queen Elizabeth National Park and gorilla tracking<\/a> pairs savanna game viewing with time in the forest, and Rwanda: gorillas and Mount Bisoke<\/a> is the shorter, more concentrated version \u2014 a couple of days of tracking plus a volcano walk, rather than a two-week circuit.<\/p>\n

Southern Africa<\/h2>\n

The southern programmes are built around water and desert rather than grassland. The Okavango Delta and Chobe<\/a> is the inland-delta and riverfront combination: an ecosystem that floods rather than dries. Victoria Falls and the Cape<\/a> links the falls with the South African coast and works well for travellers who want landmark sites rather than long days in a vehicle. Namibia<\/a> is the desert and coastline route, built around dunes, canyons and the Atlantic shore.<\/p>\n

The Horn, the Sahara and the Red Sea<\/h2>\n

Three itineraries sit outside the usual safari map. Ethiopia<\/a> is highland culture, rock-hewn churches and volcanic landscape rather than wildlife. Eritrea and the Dahlak Archipelago<\/a> reaches a coastline and an island group well outside the usual routes. Morocco<\/a> covers the cities, the Atlas foothills and the desert edge. These are for travellers who have already done the well-known parks and want somewhere that is not on the standard circuit.<\/p>\n

Cultural Asia<\/h2>\n

The Buddhist sites of Nepal<\/a> covers Lumbini and the Kathmandu valley for travellers whose interest is religious and historical rather than alpine.<\/p>\n

Latin America<\/h2>\n

Machu Picchu with an Amazon extension<\/a> pairs the Inca sites with rainforest, and is a different product from the Peru trekking programme \u2014 one is a journey, the other a walking route, and they should not be confused. The Pantanal, Iguazu and Rio<\/a> is Brazil’s wetland-and-waterfall combination, and the Pantanal is among the more open wildlife-viewing landscapes on the continent. Chile end to end<\/a> runs the length of the country from the Atacama to Tierra del Fuego.<\/p>\n

What these journeys have in common<\/h2>\n

Almost everything on this page is vehicle-based or town-based rather than carried on your back, which changes the nature of the trip in ways worth naming. The daily rhythm is set by distances and by when animals move, not by acclimatisation. On these itineraries, tolerance for early starts and long transfers usually matters more than hill fitness. Length of stay shapes a wildlife trip a great deal: a longer stay in the same park gives more time across different habitats and weather conditions.<\/p>\n

The cultural itineraries work on a similar logic: the length determines how much of a country you actually absorb rather than pass through. Where a programme page gives a day-by-day breakdown, read it as the real product; where it currently gives only a summary, treat the itinerary as enquiry-led and confirm the current operating details before booking.<\/p>\n

Pairing an adventure with a climb<\/h2>\n

These itineraries pair with a mountain programme when you are already travelling for one. A Kilimanjaro route and an East African safari can be combined through the same regional gateways. An Andean summit and a Patagonian or Atacama journey can fall in the same season on the same continent. Because the two halves are separate programmes rather than a fixed bundle, you can choose each on its own merits and set the order to suit your recovery rather than someone else’s package.<\/p>\n
