This tour of Rwanda links Kigali, the Nyungwe forest, Lake Kivu and the volcanoes of the north-west of the country. The main natural highlights of the trip are a chimpanzee trek, a walk on the canopy suspension trail, an encounter with mountain gorillas and a separate ascent of the Bisoke volcano at 3700 m.<\/p>\n
Primate permits are arranged in advance and are issued for specific dates. Observation follows the park rules and is supervised by rangers, and the length of a trek depends on where the animals are, on the state of the trails and on the weather.<\/p>\n
With a group of four participants or more a Mountain Guide team leader accompanies the trip. Treks run all year round, but in the rainy seasons the trails are considerably harder.<\/p>\n
