Climbing Elbrus: all tours Why should you go to Elbrus with us? First of all, these are
our guides and only our guides — people who will protect your life and health. Unfortunately, accidents continue to happen even in some commercial groups. Secondly, this is our twenty-fourth season of work on Elbrus and every step is honed as well as possible. Thirdly, it is with us that you will most likely have to go to more serious mountains later, so wouldn't it be better to try us from the very beginning for strength and quality? All expeditions indicated in the "dates and prices" section will be conducted by 2 participants in the group. We are also ready to organize a family vacation for your family so that no one gets bored while you are busy climbing.
Important information:
- Check-in and check-out time is regulated by the hotel: check-in from 15 o'clock, check-out from the hotel until 11-12 o'clock. You can leave your luggage at the hotel reception and walk around the area, or, if technically possible, pay extra for early check-in/late check-out.
- Any exit from the shelter on the day of the ascent is an attempt.
- For foreign citizens, if necessary, we make guest invitations to our tours
Please note that unlike other guiding companies, we always climb Elbrus’s higher West summit (5642m) and not the lower East one (5621m) – in order to avoid possible disaccord between our group members.
The traverse of Elbrus from north to south is almost no different from climbing Elbrus from the north, except for a slightly heavier backpack on the day of the ascent and more comfortable accommodation after the ascent. Such an ascent allows you to see both sides of Elbrus, as well as, in addition to the fields and meadows of the northern side of Elbrus, the ridges and snow—capped peaks of the Main Caucasian Ridge.
Climbing Elbrus from the north, you will not see hotels, highways or restaurants, but you will get the opportunity to admire the night towns of KavMinvod and ancient moraines, which have amazing «lava» sculptures as decorations. And above all this splendor stands the huge Elbrus. Nearby, at an altitude of three kilometers, there is also a huge plateau — a natural airfield. During the war, the Germans used it for landing troops. Those who follow the «caravan route» from the south and descend there will not see all this. We offer you the most authentic climbing of Elbrus, with nights in a tent, mountain streams and a sea of romance. On our route you will not see or hear any signs of human civilization – only mountains and nature.
We strongly recommend watching a lecture by our most experienced Elbrus guide about Elbrus
Day 1. Meeting of expedition participants at Mineralnye Vody Airport or railway station. For convenience, please plan your arrival no later than 12:00 noon to have enough time to start the route. After the meeting, we transfer to the mountain area, to Emmanuel Glade. Here, among majestic mountains, we set up the base camp from which our ascent will begin. In the evening, a briefing will take place where we will discuss route specifics, safety measures, and the plan for the coming days. Dinner in the shelter will conclude the first day. Overnight in comfortable shelter conditions, resting after the journey.
Day 2. In the morning, we set out on an acclimatization hike to the hut located at an altitude of 3700 m. During the ascent, we will also carry up equipment and supplies for the following stages of the climb. This day helps with altitude adaptation and prepares the body for more serious нагрузки. After descending, we return to Emmanuel Glade where, depending on weather conditions, we will stay in tents or huts. In the evening, there will be time to rest and discuss plans for the next days. Overnight in the shelter at Emmanuel Glade.
Day 3. Today we make the transition to the hut at an altitude of 3700 m, where we will spend the night. This day serves as additional acclimatization and preparation for the next stage of the ascent. In the evening, we will explore the surroundings and possibly conduct a light training session to prepare for more challenging climbs.
Day 4. After breakfast, we head out on an acclimatization hike to the Lenz Rocks at an altitude of 4700 m. This is a moderately difficult ascent that allows us to adapt to higher elevations and prepare for the summit push. In the evening, we return to the shelter at 3700 m for overnight and rest before the main ascent.
Day 5. This day is reserved for rest and preparation. We will check equipment, conduct necessary training sessions, discuss the ascent strategy, and rest. Overnight again in the shelter at 3700 m, recovering strength for the upcoming climb.
Day 6. The ascent of Elbrus — the culmination of our expedition. We start between 2:00 and 4:00 a.m. to take advantage of favorable climbing conditions. The average ascent time ranges from 6 to 10 hours, depending on the group’s pace and weather conditions. At 3700 m, we will hand over excess equipment to a porter, who will transport it to the Dzhily-Su springs, from where it will be sent to your hotel in Mineralnye Vody. Overnight in the shelter, resting after the ascent and enjoying the sense of achievement.
Day 7. This is a reserve day, required in case of bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances. If the ascent was not successful for any reason, this day can be used for additional attempts or rest. Overnight in the shelter.
Day 8. Descent from the mountains and return to Mineralnye Vody. After descending, we transfer to the hotel, where comfort and relaxation await. Here you can unwind, discuss the adventure, enjoy a hot dinner, and rest after intense days in the mountains.
Day 9. Departure home. We conclude our expedition, say farewell to the mountains, and transfer to the airport for departure.
