A gift certificate for a journey, a climb or an expedition
Do not try to guess someone else’s mountain, date and level of difficulty. Give them the right to choose their own adventure, from a first trip to the mountains to a full expedition.
The idea
Give not an object but the decision to say, one day, „I am going“
A good present does not have to fit on a shelf. Sometimes it becomes a first training session, a new stamp in a passport, a sunrise above the clouds, or the summit someone has talked about for years and kept putting off.
No need to guess the route
Elbrus, Kilimanjaro, a trek in Nepal, a safari or an expedition on another continent all call for different experience and different amounts of time. A certificate leaves the final choice to the recipient.
You can back a big dream
The value does not have to cover the whole cost of a trip. It can be the first serious contribution towards a future expedition, and turn a distant plan into a concrete goal.
The gift stays personal
A designer certificate can carry a name and the chosen trip. The digital version preserves the greatest freedom and suits the cases where it is better not to decide someone’s preferences for them.
Two ways to give an adventure
A digital certificate, or a designer certificate for a particular trip
Choose the format to suit the person and the occasion. If the decision has to be quick and freedom of choice matters, a digital denomination is easier. If you want to hand over something visibly personal, order the designer version.
A denomination with a promo code
You choose the amount, and the recipient uses the promo code when buying a trip or another item online on the Mountain Guide site. The certificate can be passed on.
- Eight ready-made denominations
- No need to choose a mountain in advance
- Works as a gift in its own right or as a contribution towards an expensive expedition
A physical certificate with a name and a route
The certificate can carry the person’s name and the chosen trip. The physical version is sent by post, and the design and wording are agreed before the order.
- A personal gift you can hand over yourself
- A particular climb or journey can be named on it
- Suits a birthday, a wedding, an anniversary or a shared goal that matters
Digital certificates
Choose the value of the gift certificate
Choose the value that fits: every option is arranged on the same purchase page. If the amount you need is not there, or you want a certificate for a particular programme, write to us and we will put the format together by hand.
How to choose the amount
A gift can pay for the first part of the journey or for almost a whole expedition
Do not go only by the price of a particular trip. A small denomination helps make a first payment; a large one turns a dream of a distant mountain into a real plan. The current price and the availability of places always have to be checked on the page of the programme itself.
What you can give
One certificate page, dozens of possible stories
The recipient does not choose a vague „trip“ but the Mountain Guide programme that suits them. You can start with a comfortable journey or a first experience in the mountains, and go on to big summits and a whole series of expeditions.
A first serious climb, with several routes and several ways to prepare
The highest summit in Africa, and several classic routes
The Himalaya, the Caucasus, South America and routes with no race for a summit
A gift that can become the first step in a project lasting years
Big landscapes and journeys for people who do not need a technical mountain
Winter routes, snowy slopes and new ways to spend time in the mountains
How it works
From gift to route in four clear steps
Choose the format
A ready-made digital denomination or a personal designer certificate.
Arrange the gift
Buy the denomination you want on the site, or agree the physical version with a manager.
The recipient chooses
The route, the dates and the level of the programme are chosen with their experience, health and interests in mind.
The certificate is used
The promo code reduces the cost of an online purchase, and any difference is paid separately if needed.
For climbs and expeditions, the requirements for age, experience, fitness, health, documents and insurance all still apply. A certificate does not guarantee a summit and does not replace the guide’s decision on clearance and safety. If the chosen objective is too hard for now, we will help find a realistic first step.
For companies and large teams
Gift certificates for staff, clients and partners
When you have several gifts to prepare, a certificate saves you from trying to guess what each person is interested in. You can choose identical or different denominations, and turn the designer format into a personal gesture.
Before the order we agree the quantity, the denominations, the format and the wording. For corporate programmes and private groups, see also the „For companies“.
Tell us what you need, how many recipients there are and roughly what the budget is. We will suggest a sensible combination of denominations and formats.
Common questions
What to know before you buy
Do I have to choose a particular trip straight away?
No. A digital certificate of the value you choose leaves the decision to the recipient. If the route is already known and you want to hand over something more personal, you can order a designer certificate with the name of the trip and the person’s name.
What does a digital certificate apply to?
A digital certificate carries a promo code that can be used as a discount when buying a trip or another item online on the Mountain Guide site.
What happens if the programme costs more than the certificate?
The certificate reduces the purchase by its own value. The rest of the cost is paid separately, on the current terms of the chosen programme.
Can the certificate be passed on to someone else?
Yes, a digital certificate can be passed on. Do not publish the promo code and do not give it to anyone else before you hand the gift over.
What happens if the chosen programme costs less than the certificate?
The unused balance is not lost. It can be used on the next purchase, within the validity period of the certificate.
Can a name and a message be added?
Yes. Electronic and printed formats are both available, along with the recipient’s name, a personal message and delivery on an agreed date.
Can I give a particular climb as a gift?
Yes. The designer format suits that especially well, since it can carry the name and the chosen route. Before arranging a demanding programme, it is sensible to check that it matches the recipient’s experience.
What if the person has never been to the mountains?
Do not choose a technical or high-altitude expedition on their behalf. Give them a denomination and the chance to talk it through with us. We will suggest a programme that makes a safe and honest first step.
Does a certificate guarantee a place in a group?
No. Places, dates and the current price are confirmed separately for the chosen programme. It is better to contact a manager before buying flights and other non-refundable services.
Does a certificate guarantee a summit?
No. In the mountains the outcome depends on the weather, the state of the route, health and safety decisions. A certificate pays for participation or for part of the cost, but it cannot buy a summit.
How do I get a physical designer certificate?
Write to us with the recipient’s name, the occasion and the route or the amount you have in mind. The design, the wording and the method of postal delivery are agreed before the order.
How long is a certificate valid?
A certificate for the chosen amount is valid for 24 months from the date it is issued.
A gift can already be a plan
Choose a value, or tell us who you are looking for an adventure for
If you are torn between the digital and the designer format, do not guess. Write to us about the person, the occasion and the budget, and we will help you choose a gift that is a real step towards a trip rather than a handsome promise.
