From Krasnodar you can travel directly by car or on an organised coach, or you can build the journey through the Caucasian Mineral Waters. The main question is who takes responsibility for the long road. Mountain Guide can sell a ground module in Terskol or confirm an ElbrusTransfer from Mineralnye Vody, but it must not present an unverified coach from Krasnodar as its own service.
For someone living in Krasnodar a two-day trip means more than two calendar days in total once the overnight journey is counted. A three-day ground package is usually more robust: Friday to Sunday on site, with the travel nights planned separately. A week spreads the effort of the long journey more comfortably.
Three transport models
| Model | Who manages the journey | Strong point | What to check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Own car | The traveller | Flexibility and luggage | Weather, a relief driver, parking, winter conditions |
| Organised coach from Krasnodar | Regional organiser/carrier | A single pick-up and a group format | Legal entity, 2026/27 dates, pick-up point, luggage, insurance, refunds |
| Train/plane to KMV + ElbrusTransfer | The client buys the ticket, we confirm the local vehicle | A clear split of responsibility | Connections, luggage, the waiting limit, the return service |
Driving there yourself: why a satnav estimate is not enough
The time an app calculates does not include a proper rest for the driver, winter road conditions, holiday traffic or stops. After driving through the night you cannot treat intensive skiing as guaranteed. The traveller is responsible for the condition of the car, for carrying the required equipment and for complying with road regulations.
Parking at the chosen property is confirmed before the accommodation is paid for. „You’ll find a space nearby“ is not the same as a reserved place. Whether a minibus can reach the entrance is checked separately if the group travels together.
The coach trip: what to buy from a regional partner
There are organisers in the South that have advertised departures to the Elbrus region, including short ski formats. An old web page is no confirmation that a service will run in the winter of 2026/27. Before a partner package is sold, someone has to telephone: exact dates, the pick-up route, the vehicle, the legal seller and the cancellation terms.
- Who is the contracting party and who receives the payment?
- Is there a specific date and a minimum group size?
- Where is the pick-up in Krasnodar and what intermediate stops are there?
- How are skis, snowboards and large items of luggage carried?
- Is there a relief driver and how are the stops organised?
- What happens if the group is undersubscribed, if the vehicle breaks down or if it is delayed?
Mountain Guide offers such partners a net ground package: accommodation, rental included, local coordination and confirmable extras. The journey is sold and operated by the partner; the client sees the division clearly.
The route via Mineralnye Vody
The resort’s official page gives a guide figure of about 190 km from Mineralnye Vody airport to the resort. That is not a guaranteed journey time. ElbrusTransfer confirms a vehicle tied to a specific flight or train, to the number of people and to the luggage.
The advantage is that a professional carrier covers the long road section and the client does not get behind the wheel after a day’s skiing. The drawback is two separate connections. Buy the ticket to KMV with time in hand and with a clear understanding of how long the vehicle will wait.
How to fit two days in
A two-day programme starts on Saturday morning. The practical options are to arrive in Terskol on Friday and take an extra night, or to buy overnight transport from a confirmed regional organiser that arrives in time for the equipment handover.
Departure after Sunday’s skiing also has to leave time to return the equipment and pack. If the coach has a fixed departure time, the last lift is planned around it and not the other way round.
Why three days is the main Krasnodar product
Friday absorbs part of the uncertainty of the journey. If the group arrives early it collects its equipment and starts the programme; if it arrives late, it prepares for Saturday. The two weekend days that follow are spent on site.
The working enhanced price is from RUB 22,100 per person for a group of eight using the local transfer. For a coach from Krasnodar, Mountain Guide gives the net ground package without the MRV transfer, and the organiser adds its own journey and margin.
The week-long option
A week makes sense when the travel days are long in relation to a short break. Six nights and seven calendar days of rental give you flexibility. The working price for the enhanced model is from RUB 54,200 without a lift pass.
For anyone driving, the day of departure matters especially: after skiing, the driver has to be fit for the road. It is safer to plan an extra night than to assume alertness is guaranteed.
Rental and coach luggage
Rock’n’Rent included reduces the luggage: there is no need to bring the main set of equipment from Krasnodar. Guests send their details in advance. This is a strong argument for a regional carrier, because the luggage compartment does not fill up with every guest’s ski bag.
If somebody is travelling with their own equipment, the organiser has to confirm the rules and the capacity. Mountain Guide does not promise space in someone else’s coach.
An instructor for a mixed group
A regional organiser may sell a beginners‘ module, but only once accredited specialists have been confirmed. A mixed group is divided by discipline and by level. One instructor is not used as a general-purpose coach escort.
As a guide to lead times, request at least five days, and ten over the holidays. The actual maximum number of pupils, the timings and the rate are fixed in the partner confirmation.
Agency pricing and the code
Standard commission on the three-day and seven-day products is 10%, and 7% on the two-day one. After 10 paying clients in a season, or for a closed group of eight or more, 12% is possible. Up to 15% is discussed only for a group of 12 or more and after a check on the cost price.
Each partner is issued a code and a UTM link. Commission is calculated on the paid, non-refunded amount received by Mountain Guide and is not combined with a retail discount. Third-party transport and a lift pass bought separately are not part of the commission base.
A checklist for the trip
- Choose the ground format and the transport model.
- Obtain confirmation from the regional carrier or from ElbrusTransfer.
- Send the group list and the rental forms.
- Confirm the property, the rooms and the parking or drop-off point.
- Assign instructors and any additional services.
- Obtain a single document setting out the separate sellers and cancellation terms.
- Check the resort’s official status before departure.
In short: for Krasnodar we do not sell a mythical „door-to-door tour“ but a verified combination: transport from a named seller plus our ground package in Terskol.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a direct Mountain Guide coach from Krasnodar?
There is no confirmed service of our own. We are building a list of regional partners; the particular coach is sold by the named organiser.
Can I come by car?
Yes. Confirm the parking, allow for the driver’s rest and do not rely on a satnav estimate alone.
Which is better, 2 or 3 days?
For Krasnodar three days on site is usually more robust. Two days work with an extra Friday night or a confirmed overnight coach.
Do I need to bring skis?
No, the main set is included. Your own equipment travels only once the luggage rules have been confirmed.
Who is responsible for the journey?
The seller or carrier named in the transport contract. Mountain Guide is responsible for the confirmed ground arrangements.
What to check before you set off
Mountain infrastructure and conditions change. No article replaces checking which pistes are open, whether the lifts are running, the weather and any restrictions immediately before the trip.
Choosing a programme
First choose the length and the date. Before payment we confirm the accommodation, the rental set and every additional service ordered. The main set of skis or snowboard is counted for each calendar day of the programme.
For a quotation, give the dates, the number of guests, the ages of any children, skiing ability, height, weight and boot size. You can send an enquiry through Mountain Guide contacts.
How to check a Krasnodar carrier by telephone
The call is short and to the point: „Do you run regular ski departures to the Elbrus region in the winter of 2026/27? What are the dates, the pick-up points, the minimum group size, the luggage allowance and the legal seller?“ The answer goes into the database with the date and the name of the person you spoke to.
If departures are arranged only for ready-made groups, the company stays in the database but moves to a different segment. It is offered not a mailing about a retail tour but a closed group with a net ground rate.
The pick-up route and the cost of waiting
Departures from Krasnodar may collect passengers in neighbouring towns. Every stop adds time and increases the risk of delay. The offer shows the running order, not just the words „from Krasnodar“.
Mountain Guide needs to know the estimated arrival time so as not to book an instructor too early. If the coach is late, the rules on lessons and equipment handover are applied without contractors blaming one another.
The net ground rate for a coach
The estimated MRV transfer is taken out of the three-day price and the local component is recalculated for the actual group. The partner receives the net rate, adds the coach and publishes the full price. It does not deduct commission a second time.
The contract states whether the agent is selling a single package holiday or two separate services. The legal structure is settled before the mailing goes out; an SEO page is no substitute for a contract.
Why rental is a particularly strong argument for Krasnodar
Many clients are willing to travel by coach but do not want to buy equipment or fill the luggage hold. An included set solves both problems. The form is completed before boarding, so the group is not left standing at a random shop in the morning.
For the carrier this means fewer ski bags, though clothing and personal luggage remain. The carrier sets its own limit and tells its clients what it is.
A mixed group from different towns in the region
Each traveller is given an individual pick-up point and the contact details of the coach escort. Mountain Guide receives the final list but does not manage boarding when the transport is sold by a partner.
The same stops are recorded for the return journey. A spontaneous request to be dropped off in a different town is granted only under the carrier’s rules.
What to show on a „from Krasnodar“ page
- Two transport models, not one invented service.
- Why 3 days beats 2 for a long journey.
- Rental included and the luggage advantage.
- A precise division between the sellers.
- A link to current programmes rather than a copied price.
- A form: pick-up town, dates, ability and group composition.
A photograph of a coach is used only once a specific partner has been confirmed and has given permission. For now it is stronger to show the actual equipment handover and Terskol.
UTM tracking for a partner
Each operator is given a code and a link with utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign. The code is stored with the order. That makes it possible to see who brought the enquiry in, even if the client telephoned later.
The code is not a discount by default. It can credit commission to the partner while the public price stays the same.
The first market test
Before any mass mailing, pick 10–20 verified organisers, send them the same strong offer and collect their objections. There is no need to write to hundreds until the price and the legal structure have been worked out.
What the test produces: interest in the 3-day and 7-day products, the net rate they want, whether an allocation is needed, which dates and what payment format. The offer is then refined for the wider database.
A Krasnodar lead in the form
The form asks for the district or pick-up point, willingness to drive or to travel via KMV, the number of people and the dates. It does not promise a coach; it shows real demand for the negotiations.
The submission event records city=krasnodar and the format chosen. The telephone number is not sent to analytics.
Partner commission and the transport margin
If the agent merely brings the client in, 10% applies on the 3-day and 7-day products. If the agent organises the coach and sells it, the transport margin is counted separately. Commission is not paid twice on the land-only element.
For a closed group the net rate is fixed before the full price is published.
If one person cancels their seat
The transport may not get any cheaper, while the ground component changes according to the accommodation. The partner applies its rules and tells the remaining travellers the revised figures before the deadline.
Replacing a traveller requires a new rental form.
A product card without a coach of our own
The heading „from Krasnodar“ remains accurate as long as the article explains the travel options and leads to the ground tour. A „buy a coach seat“ button must not be added while no service exists.
Once a partner is confirmed, a separate block is added with the date, the seller and the rules.
The first advertising chain
- The advert: 3 days on Elbrus with rental included.
- A Krasnodar landing page.
- A form covering transport.
- A reply from a manager setting out both models.
- UTM tracking through to payment.
Advertising is not launched against an unconfirmed travel price. Land-only and an enquiry come first.
An example of two prices from Krasnodar
The client sees the Mountain Guide land-only price and, separately, the cost of the partner’s confirmed coach. If they choose the route via KMV, the coach is replaced by a ticket and an ElbrusTransfer. The ground component stays the same either way.
That lets them compare the models without the illusion that the journey is „included free“.
