The ascent of Klyuchevskaya Sopka is a journey into the heart of Kamchatka, a meeting with one of the highest active volcanoes in Eurasia. This majestic giant, rising to an altitude of 4750 meters, is not only a natural landmark but also a symbol of the power of this volcanic region.

An expedition to Klyuchevskaya Sopka is not only a test of physical endurance, but also an opportunity to find yourself among wild landscapes, see lava fields, frozen flows, and active craters. Here, on the boundary between sky and earth, participants immerse themselves in an atmosphere of adventure and discovery, where every step brings them closer to the summit, and the view from its height leaves an indelible impression.

The program is designed for people with good physical fitness who are ready for intense exertion and unpredictable weather conditions. Throughout the entire route, participants are accompanied by experienced guides who ensure the safety and comfort of the group. The ascent is carried out in small groups, creating a friendly atmosphere and allowing everyone to feel like part of a team.

The safest and most optimal route to the summit of Klyuchevskaya Sopka runs from the northeastern side. The climate and altitude of Kamchatka differ significantly from other mountain regions such as Elbrus, which makes the physical preparedness of participants a key factor for success. Group ascents here require special attention to the condition of each participant, as not only experience is important, but also team spirit, mutual support, and readiness for any challenges that may arise along the way.

We also organize ascents via alternative routes, including the use of a helicopter to the “Antarctica” Plateau (at an altitude of about 2000 meters), followed by an ascent to the saddle at 3100–3400 meters. An ascent from the Klyuchevskaya–Kamen saddle is also possible; however, the trekking route from Kopyto takes 4–5 days one way, without roads or transport (please contact us for more detailed information).

Whichever route you choose, this journey will be a true challenge for both body and spirit, and its memories will stay with you for a lifetime. Welcome to Klyuchevskaya Sopka — a place where dreams become reality!

Day 1. On the first day you arrive in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, where you will be met right at the airport by a representative of our company and transferred to the hotel. We will stay in a cozy hotel where you can rest well before the busy days ahead. In the evening, the whole group will gather to get acquainted and attend a short briefing with the guide, during which you can also ask any questions you may have. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2. Early in the morning we begin our exciting journey across Kamchatka! Our destination is the settlement of Klyuchi, where a truly Kamchatka atmosphere awaits us. On the way, we will stop in Milkovo for lunch at the “Taezhnoe” café, which will immerse us in the atmosphere of old Soviet-style canteens. By evening we will arrive in Klyuchi and check in at the “Vulkanolog” hotel, where a well-deserved rest awaits us after the long drive. The evening promises to be calm and warm, filled with impressions from the first day of the journey. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3. The third day begins with departure from the settlement of Klyuchi to an altitude of 1445 meters. The road will be challenging in places, but breathtaking thanks to the pristine landscapes of Kamchatka. By midday we will reach the starting point, from where we begin the ascent to 2600 meters. The route passes over a closed glacier, adding a true sense of adventure. The ascent will take about 4–5 hours, and upon arrival we will stay in a bunker at an altitude of 2600 meters, designed for six sleeping places. Overnight in the shelter.

Day 4. The fourth day of our route is dedicated to acclimatization at an altitude of 2600 meters. This is time for rest, recovery, and adaptation to the altitude. This day also serves as a reserve in case of unforeseen circumstances related to the participants’ health. We will spend the day at a relaxed pace, enjoying the surrounding views and preparing for the next stages of the ascent. Overnight in the shelter.

Day 5. The fifth day is spent at an altitude of 2600 meters. In some cases, we ascend to the assault camp at 3100 meters, but it is usually very crowded there. This does not allow participants to get proper rest before the summit push, so we often prefer a quieter and more secluded overnight stay in the shelter at 2600 meters. Overnight in the shelter.

Day 6. The sixth day is the culmination of our journey — the ascent of Klyuchevskaya Sopka. Depending on the condition of the participants, the start may take place at 2:00 a.m. or later. Crampons and ice axes are mandatory for safe movement on the glacier. Together with the guide, you will follow a safe route from the northeastern side. You will experience incredible emotions as the sunrise slowly appears on the horizon and majestic Kamchatka landscapes open up before us. Return to the camp at 2600 meters after completing the ascent. Overnight in the shelter.

Day 7. The seventh day is the descent day. We will leave the camp at 2600 meters early and descend to the 1445-meter level, where transport will be waiting for us. Depending on the descent speed and road conditions, we will either head to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and arrive late at night, or stay overnight in the settlement of Klyuchi, spending another quiet evening surrounded by the peaceful nature of Kamchatka.

Day 8. The eighth day is a reserve day предусмотренный in case of bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances. If all previous stages are completed successfully, this day can be used for additional rest or sightseeing. We will enjoy the views and recover after the intense days of the ascent.
