Day 1. Arrival at Victoria Falls International Airport in Zimbabwe, where you will be met by a transfer and taken to the hotel for some long-awaited rest after a long flight. In the evening, we gather as a group at one of the local restaurants, get acquainted, discuss plans, and there will be an opportunity to ask the guide any questions you may have. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2. Immediately after breakfast, we head to Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. It is from the Zimbabwean side that the waterfall is considered the most beautiful! Victoria Falls is known among locals as Mosi-oa-Tunya, which in the Tsonga language means “the smoke that thunders.” The name is associated with the mist and spray that rise into the air, creating a smoky effect. The water plunges from a height of 108 meters, making it one of the highest waterfalls in the world, and upon hitting the ground forms fine droplets and a cloud of mist. We recommend bringing rain jackets so you don’t get soaked, as well as waterproof covers for your equipment! After fully enjoying the waterfall, we will head out in search of the African Big Five — lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, and rhinoceros — in a nearby national park. On safari, we will be accompanied by an experienced local guide who knows animal behavior well and will try to find the best wildlife viewpoints for us. Afterward, we return to the hotel, relax, and have dinner. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3. We have left the program of this day up to you! What to do at Victoria Falls is your choice! And believe us, there is plenty to choose from: take a helicopter or microlight flight, swim in the Devil’s Pool (sit in a natural jacuzzi right on the edge of the waterfall), view the falls from the Zambian side, go on a river cruise with drinks, walk with lions, cage dive with crocodiles, bungee jump, and much more. We recommend booking all activities in advance at the hotel reception. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4. We wake up, have breakfast — shedding a tear into our oatmeal as we say goodbye to Victoria Falls — and head to a new country, South Africa. By transfer, we get to the airport for a two-hour flight to Johannesburg, the administrative capital of South Africa. Upon arrival, we head straight to the lodge, relax by the pool or at the bar, and go to bed early to be ready for the next day’s adventures — to one of the wildest places in Africa, in the KwaZulu-Natal province! Overnight at the lodge.
Day 5. After breakfast, we get into vehicles and set off on a six-hour drive to the coastal town on the shores of the Indian Ocean — St. Lucia. Even on the way to this town, we will already be within the territory of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Upon arrival, we will be advised to be extremely cautious: real hippos — one of the most dangerous animals in Africa despite their cute appearance — roam freely through the town streets. Accommodation in an atmospheric lodge and dinner featuring local delicacies — delicious oysters. Overnight at the lodge.
Day 6. Today is dedicated to a safari in one of South Africa’s best parks — Hluhluwe–Umfolozi. We will try to get there early in the morning at sunrise to capture stunning shots of awakening nature! The park is also home to the entire African Big Five, but its specialty is rhinos. Hluhluwe has the largest population of rare black rhinos in the world, and white rhinos are also present in large numbers. Animals are most active early in the morning and after lunch, when it is not as hot, so we will have time during the day to enjoy a relaxed lunch and rest in the cool shade of a restaurant. In the evening, full of emotions, we return to our lodge in St. Lucia. Overnight at the lodge.
Day 7. St. Lucia is famous not only for hippos leisurely roaming the town, but also for the lake of the same name. It is one of the largest lakes in South Africa, home to huge populations of hippos, crocodiles, and bull sharks, as well as many species of birds. We will go on a boat cruise on the lake, approaching the snorting hippo families at close range. Unlike other places in Africa where hippos are afraid of engine noise and swim away as soon as they hear an approaching boat, here they are accustomed to visitors and will only lazily glance in our direction. Spotting a crocodile, however, takes effort — all crocodiles swim in the water due to the lack of islands or beaches where they could bask. After the cruise, we return to the lodge to rest, and those who wish can take a walk through the streets of St. Lucia. In the evening, we will go on a night safari held in complete darkness — making it much easier to encounter nocturnal animals. Perhaps we will even manage to capture the ultimate photographic dream of both professionals and amateurs — the cautious and elusive leopard. Overnight at the lodge.
Day 8. “In the port of Cape Town with a hole in the side…” — humming these famous lines, we begin our day by heading to Durban Airport, named after one of the most warlike Zulu kings — King Shaka — for our flight to Cape Town. The flight takes only an hour and a half, and we arrive in one of the most beautiful cities in South Africa! At the airport, we will be met by a transfer that will take us to the hotel. In the evening, we will visit a legendary place — Balthazar, where the best steaks are served according to several culinary experts and publications. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 9. Today, travelers will experience the day of the African Big Seven — yes, the Big Seven! You can encounter all seven only in South Africa, and today we will meet one of its most fearsome representatives — the great white shark! By boat, we will head out into the open ocean, drop anchor, and the crew will attract the shark. A cage will be lowered overboard, we quickly put on wetsuits, and jump into the cage. The captain will lure the shark as close as possible to the cage with a large piece of fish — emotions will be overwhelming! But don’t worry, everything is absolutely safe. Return to the hotel in the evening, rest. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 10. We will spend this day at a relaxed pace in Cape Town, heading out on a tour of its main attractions right after a delicious hotel breakfast. We start with the symbol of the city and one of the modern wonders of the world — Table Mountain, then head to the Cape of Good Hope and the cozy town of Simon’s Town, famous for its penguins. There are hundreds of penguins there; they gather in groups, scurry back and forth, and undoubtedly lift the spirits of everyone nearby. Full of emotions after a насыщенного day, we return to the hotel late in the evening, rest, and have dinner. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 11. On this day, we have not planned any activities, leaving time for you to stroll around Cape Town on your own and feel the spirit of the city. Here are a few ideas:
Walk along the waterfront: a lively area with shops, restaurants, markets, and museums. Here you can enjoy beautiful views of the harbor and Table Mountain.
Beach visits: enjoy the sun on famous beaches such as Camps Bay and Cape Point, or try water sports at Blouberg Beach.
Hiking and cycling routes: Cape Town offers many excellent trails for walking and cycling, including the famous Cape Peninsula routes and mountain trails.
Visit to the Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden: enjoy the diversity of African flora in this picturesque garden, with its well-maintained paths and unique plants.
Robben Island cruise: visit the famous island where the prison that once held Nelson Mandela is located. This is an important historical site with fascinating tours.
Nightlife: discover local bars, clubs, and restaurants offering a variety of cuisines and atmospheres.
Day 12. Today is a sad day — we say goodbye to the participants and the guide and head to Cape Town Airport by transfer. Departure home.
