Itinerary

Day 1. Arrival in Tanzania, Arusha. Arrive in Arusha, our representative will meet you at the airport. Arusha is a lively, bustling city that serves as a starting point for those travelling on safari or climbing Kilimanjaro. Check-in at our cosy hotel. Enjoy a relaxing evening dinner and our guide will give a short briefing, discussing safari safety rules. Dinner and instructing the group. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2. Tarangire National Park. A leisurely breakfast with beautiful views of Mount Meru, after which we meet our driver and depart for Tarangire National Park. We will stock up on light lunchboxes so that we can satisfy our hunger without distracting us from our safari. After the Serengeti, Tarangire boasts the greatest concentration of wildlife in Tanzania, including large herds of elephant, migrating gnu antelope, zebra, buffalo, impala and raptors. Tarangire is probably best known for its impressive baobab trees that dominate the vast landscape. Our first day safari will end at Honeyguide Tarangire Camp, perched high above the Great Rift Valley. Dinner and rest before tomorrow’s journey into the Serengeti.
Day 3. Central Serengeti. Early morning immediately after breakfast we depart for the famous Serengeti National Park. Located in the heart of Tanzania, the Serengeti is home to the famous Seronera Valley and is widely recognised for its excellent wildlife viewing opportunities. This spectacular landscape is characterised by endless stretches of savannah interspersed with rocky ledges, acacia thickets and covered by a network of rivers, streams and waterholes. The great migration of Gnu antelope passes through the central part of the Serengeti, home to giraffes, impala, water deer, hippos, elephants, buffalo, lions, leopards, hyenas, jackals, servals and more. The Serengeti also offers popular outdoor activities such as horseback safaris and hot air balloon rides (please enquire if interested, we can organise in advance for you). Towards evening arrival at the lodge. Atmospheric dinner, local specialities. We will relax after a busy safari, enjoying the solitude of the camp under the stars.
Day 4. Central Serengeti. Today we will spend the day exploring the vast wonders of the Central Serengeti. After a morning and evening safari hunt, we return to our tented camp for a quiet evening in the African bush – an unforgettable experience for even the most experienced travellers. We sit around the campfire sharing stories of our experiences.
Day 5. Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This morning we leave the Serengeti and head to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. On the way stop at Olduvai Gorge, one of the most important prehistoric sites in the world. Here we learn the fascinating story of the importance of the gorge to the origin of mankind and why it is called the “Cradle of Mankind”. We then head to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where stunning views of the crater await (weather dependent). After an easy picnic, we head to the town of Karatu, a popular safari destination where you can visit the lively market, local brewery and small tours of homesteads or the Ngorongoro forest. Spend the evening in town before settling into our comfortable country lodge.
Day 6. Ngorongoro Crater. Early rise so that we can make the most of our day at Ngorongoro Crater. Renowned for its natural beauty and abundance of diverse wildlife, Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa’s most popular safari destinations. You’ll quickly realise why! This UNESCO World Heritage Site is said to be the largest intact volcanic caldera in the world, and the scenery is absolutely stunning. Perhaps even more remarkably, Ngorongoro is home to the famous ‘Big Five’ and a host of other wildlife species. Spend the day exploring the crater before returning to our hotel in Arusha.
Day 7. Arusha Departure. Today is our last day of safari and we will spend it exploring the beautiful Lake Manyara National Park. This small but lively park is home to 400 species of birds and the largest concentration of baboons in the world. Other animal species include giraffe, zebra, gnu antelope, impala, water deer, warthog, Cape clawless otter and Egyptian mongoose. Sightings include thousands of flamingos congregating on the lake, the famous tree-climbing lions and large families of elephants roaming the forest. Return to Arusha to catch your flight home (please, for those who choose to finish their safari without a beach holiday in Zanzibar, we recommend buying tickets for flights after 7pm). Alternatively, continue with a relaxing beach holiday in Zanzibar!
