Since 2004 we have run ski tours only for clients from abroad, most often corporate ones, representing the interests of German, American, Spanish, Scandinavian, Japanese and other companies inside Russia and beyond it. Now we have decided to expand into the Russian ski-touring market as well. In essence all our ski tours are ski mountaineering, because the programme usually includes a summit of some kind. The main destinations on which we run ski tours:
Elbrus ski tours with accommodation and hire
Readers of the “Ski touring and downhill skiing” section can choose from three piste programmes run by Mountain Guide. Every departure ends on a Sunday, accommodation is in Terskol, and a basic set of skis or a snowboard is included.
- 2-day tour — Saturday and Sunday
- 3-day tour — Friday–Sunday
- 7-day tour — Monday–Sunday
The lift pass, travel and the instructor are paid for separately. An extra night, transfers, meals, single accommodation and lessons can be requested subject to availability.

What are ski touring and ski mountaineering?
Ski touring is a form of skiing that lets you climb into the mountains and descend ungroomed slopes. The skis are fitted with special bindings and with skins — removable strips that stop the ski sliding backwards on the way up. It is the ideal choice for anyone who wants to escape the bustle of the resorts and find quiet in wild country.
Ski mountaineering is a more extreme form of ski touring, combining elements of mountaineering: ascents of demanding summits, the use of climbing equipment and the crossing of glaciers. It is a challenge for experienced skiers and climbers who want to test their strength and reach new heights.

Who can take up ski touring?
Ski touring suits beginners and experienced skiers alike. If you are only starting out, there are simple routes with a minimum of ascent. For experienced skiers there are demanding, exhilarating routes with elements of mountaineering in them.
Ski mountaineering, though, calls for preparation, technical and physical alike. You need to be confident on skis, able to work with ropes and ready for harsh conditions.

An avalanche-safety course and training in ski-touring technique are recommended. An experienced guide will help you pick up the basic skills and teach you to choose routes properly.
