Itinerary of the Malawi journey

Day 1.

The group assembles in Lilongwe or Blantyre and transfers to Majete.

Day 2.

Majete: a full day of game viewing.

Day 3.

The transfer to Mulanje and a short mountain walk.

Day 4.

Mulanje: a full trek with a local guide.

Day 5.

The transfer to Liwonde.

Day 6.

Liwonde: game viewing by vehicle and by boat.

Day 7.

Liwonde: a second day in the park, or Mangochi depending on conditions.

Day 8.

Lake Malawi: the transfer and a water-based activities.

Day 9.

Lake Malawi: an island and snorkelling through a licensed operator.

Day 10.

Continuing north along the lake.

Day 11.

The transfer to the Nyika plateau.

Day 12.

Nyika: a full day across the plateau.

Day 13.

Nyika to Karonga: the descent from the plateau.

Day 14.

The Songwe and Kasumulu border and the finish at Mbeya, or a departure from Malawi under separate logistics.
