South Africa: from Cape Town to the Drakensberg

A continuous natural arc that is rarely offered as one route: the Cape Peninsula, the ocean coast, Tsitsikamma, Addo, the Wild Coast and the Drakensberg.

A guaranteed Mountain Guide group departure is scheduled. The route is published in a working edition. The price and the exact composition of services will be added once the accommodation, the permits and the local team have been confirmed.

Day 1.

Arrival in Cape Town, the group assembles, a briefing and a check of the vehicle.

Day 2.

The Cape Peninsula, Cape Point and the Boulders penguin colony.

Day 3.

Table Mountain and the natural routes around Cape Town; the cableway is held in reserve depending on the wind.

Day 4.

The Cape winelands and the transfer to the Overberg coast.

Day 5.

De Hoop: coastal paths, dunes and fynbos, with no promise of seasonal whales.

Day 6.

The Garden Route, natural stops along the way and the Knysna area.

Day 7.

Tsitsikamma: the coastal trail and the suspension bridges.

Day 8.

Addo Elephant National Park: a full day of game viewing with a local ranger.

Day 9.

The transfer to the Wild Coast, with substantial natural stops on the way.

Day 10.

The Wild Coast: a walking route along the cliffs and river mouths.

Day 11.

The Drakensberg: the transfer and a short acclimatisation route.

Day 12.

A full trek in the Amphitheatre area or at Cathedral Peak, according to the weather and the level of the group.

Day 13.

The transfer to Underberg or Durban, the end of the trip or the connection to the next route in the sequence.
