The main meeting point is Harare on the morning of day 1; the trip ends in Victoria Falls in the afternoon of day 14. If arriving in Harare on an international flight, we recommend arriving the day before. An extra night before the trip is arranged separately. For participants continuing from Mozambique, joining via Mutare can be arranged separately, but this does not change the main itinerary and the meeting time must be confirmed.
The main itinerary includes one mountain area: Nyanga. Chimanimani is a separate extension, not an addition within the same 14 days, as that would reduce the time available in the parks. An overnight stop in Harare is planned after Mana Pools, before continuing to Great Zimbabwe.
Late April and early May are a transitional season; peak dry-season safari conditions are not promised. Before confirming the group, the opening of the chosen Mana Pools camp and access roads must be checked. Walking and canoeing are possible only with the required permits, suitable conditions and an authorised local team. If Mana Pools is inaccessible, any substantial route change must be agreed before booking.
Day 1. Harare - Nyanga.
Meet in Harare in the morning and travel to the Eastern Highlands, staying in the Nyanga area. Participants must be ready to leave at the agreed time. If your flight arrives too late, arrive the previous day rather than sacrificing the next mountain day. Night in the Nyanga area.
Day 2. A full day in Nyanga.
Walks and natural viewpoints in the Eastern Highlands. The walking route is chosen according to the weather, trail conditions and the group's ability. The whole day is kept for the mountain area, with no transfer to Chimanimani. Night in the Nyanga area.
Day 3. Nyanga - Harare.
Return to Harare, prepare for Mana Pools and rest before the next stage. Night in Harare.
Day 4. Harare - Mana Pools.
Travel to the agreed camp in Mana Pools. This is primarily a travel day. A short wildlife outing after arrival is possible if time allows. Night in Mana Pools.
Day 5. A full day in Mana Pools.
Safari in the Zambezi Valley. A walking outing takes place only with an authorised guide and in suitable conditions. The exact activities are set out in the confirmed itinerary. Night in Mana Pools.
Day 6. A second day in Mana Pools.
Another full day for nature and wildlife watching. Canoeing or another water activity is planned only after the operator, river conditions and participants' eligibility have been confirmed. Otherwise, the day remains based on land safari. Night in Mana Pools.
Day 7. Mana Pools - Harare.
Leave the park and travel to Harare for an overnight stop. A direct journey from Mana Pools to Great Zimbabwe with a full tour on the same day is not promised.
Day 8. Harare - Great Zimbabwe.
Travel to the Great Zimbabwe area. If there is enough time after the journey, begin visiting the historic complex; otherwise, the main visit takes place the following morning. Night in the Great Zimbabwe area.
Day 9. Great Zimbabwe - Matobo.
Complete the visit to Great Zimbabwe and travel to Matobo. This day combines the historic complex and travel, without promising an additional full safari. Night in the Matobo area.
Day 10. A full day in Matobo.
Granite hills, nature routes and Matobo's cultural heritage. Specific walks and visits are agreed with the local guide. Wildlife watching does not guarantee a sighting of any particular species. Night in the Matobo area.
Day 11. Matobo - Hwange.
Travel to the Hwange base, allowing for road conditions. An evening outing is possible if the arrival time allows; the main safari day is scheduled separately. Night in the Hwange area.
Day 12. A full day in Hwange.
A full safari day in Hwange with a local guide. Morning and evening are devoted to wildlife watching, without combining the day with a long transfer. Night in the Hwange area.
Day 13. Hwange - Victoria Falls.
Travel to Victoria Falls. If there is enough time, visit the falls after arrival; otherwise, the visit is kept for the following morning. Night in Victoria Falls.
Day 14. Victoria Falls and the end of the trip.
The main visit to the falls, if it did not take place the previous day, followed by the end of the trip in the afternoon. Agree your return flight time before buying a ticket: an early departure is not compatible with the morning visit. An extra night or onward travel to Botswana is arranged separately.
The final package and price are being confirmed. Before booking, participants receive a written offer specifying the overnight stays, transport, meals, park fees, excursions and work of the local team. The places listed in the itinerary do not in themselves mean that every possible activity is included in the price.
Separate costs will be listed in the final offer: international and domestic flights where they are not included in the package, visa and entry costs, insurance, extra nights before and after the trip, personal expenses and optional activities. Do not buy tickets based on the provisional itinerary before the package has been confirmed.
