Price on application. A quote is built from the route, the dates, the number of vehicles, the camps, the participants and the staff.

Ojos del Salado B2B logistics is intended for agencies, clubs and professional guides who need a ground operator in Chile. It is not a shortened retail trip, and it does not include leadership of the group until guiding services are written in as a separate line.

The published Mountain Guide scheme out of Copiapó can be used as the basis: Laguna Santa Rosa, Laguna Verde, San Francisco, Atacama and Tejos. For a group that is already acclimatised, a separate request is possible for the short Chilean section via Atacama and Tejos. The source of the acclimatisation and the responsibility of the leader are fixed before the quote is prepared.

A specification can cover airport and ground transfers, hotels in Copiapó, four-wheel-drive vehicles and drivers, camps and group equipment, catering and fuel, local mountain guides, permit support and operational communications. The number of vehicles, the overnight locations, the fuel reserve and the contingency plan are stated explicitly.

The access regime, the condition of the roads, the operation of the refuges and the requirements of the local authorities are checked for the chosen dates. A blanket entry reading "transfer as set out in the itinerary" is not sufficient: a B2B table states the points, the days, the number of passengers and the volume of baggage.

Send us your preferred itinerary, the composition of the team, the altitude plan, the nationalities, the number of loads and the allocation of responsibility. We return an offer with inclusions, exclusions, confirmation deadlines and the terms that apply to changes.

Before payment the parties separately approve the currency, the bank charges, the deadline for passing on the participant list, participant substitutions, the channel for operational communication and the person authorised to approve additional costs if the road situation changes.

Every version of the offer carries a date and a number.

How an Ojos del Salado B2B package is assembled

Ojos del Salado combines great altitude with vehicle-based logistics. The main risk in a weak specification is therefore to treat a four-wheel-drive vehicle as a universal solution. The route of each vehicle, the number of drivers, passengers and pieces of baggage, the fuel reserve and the action to take if the road closes all have to be defined in advance.

The acclimatisation schedule remains the responsibility of the party leading the group. If the client takes the short module, the client supplies the data on the participants' previous altitude and overnight stays. Mountain Guide does not confirm accelerated delivery to 5260–5800 m as a standalone trip from low altitude.

The camp section is described point by point: Laguna Santa Rosa, Laguna Verde, Atacama and Tejos. For each point the specification records tents or a refuge, water, catering, kitchen, toilet, charging, communications and a fallback option. Availability of the Tejos refuge is not treated as guaranteed without confirmation.

Local mountain guides work at a ratio of one guide to three participants on the retail ascent. In a B2B offer the number of guides is agreed according to the route and the client's requirements, but it cannot fall below the mandatory rules and the decisions of the local team. A Russian-speaking coordinator is added as a separate line.

Where the partner's clients buy a finished Mountain Guide product, the 15-day expedition or the private trip are used instead. B2B exists for the case in which the partner keeps its own brand and its own leadership.

Before departure a final day-by-day reconciliation is carried out: hotel, driver and vehicle, meeting coordinates, tents, catering, water, fuel, permits, guides and a backup contact. The partner receives one agreed operational document instead of scattered correspondence.

The document also marks the points beyond which a change of plan creates a new cost. An additional hotel night, the return of a vehicle, a repeat drive up to a camp or an extension of a guide's work are not treated as part of the original package without a reserve agreed in advance.

A separate section covers the boundary of responsibility. The ground operator confirms the services listed, the driver is responsible for driving in permissible conditions, and the climbing leader is responsible for acclimatisation, pace and decisions about participants. This structure exists not as a formality, but so that at a critical moment the team knows who takes the decision.

Stages of Ojos del Salado B2B preparation

Stage 1. Route and acclimatisation.

The client supplies the day-by-day itinerary, the altitudes of the overnight stays, the previous acclimatisation and the roles of the leaders.

Stage 2. Access and permits.

The access regime in force, the notifications, the documents and the restrictions applying on the chosen dates are checked.

Stage 3. Copiapó.

Airport transfers, the hotel, purchasing, cargo storage and the assembly point for the team are agreed.

Stage 4. Vehicles.

Four-wheel-drive vehicles, drivers, route points, passenger numbers, cargo, fuel and the contingency scenario are fixed.

Stage 5. Acclimatisation camps.

The services at Laguna Santa Rosa and Laguna Verde are defined, together with support for the ascent of San Francisco.

Stage 6. Atacama and Tejos.

Tents, the refuge subject to availability, catering, water, group equipment and guides are agreed.

Stage 7. Contingency and evacuation.

The contract sets out the action to take in bad weather, on closure of the road, in illness and on an early descent.

Stage 8. Final matrix.

The parties approve the price, the currency, the payment deadlines, the cancellation terms, the contacts and the format of the closing documents.

Who needs the Ojos del Salado B2B format

B2B suits an agency, a club or a guide with their own itinerary and a responsible leader. The size of the order is set by the route, the transport and the services, not by the number of participants alone.

If a group has no leadership of its own, a private Mountain Guide expedition is the right choice. That keeps responsibility clear and does not leave the client caught between two operators.

Weather, roads and changes to a B2B plan

Operations depend on the season, the state of the high-altitude roads, wind and snow. The weather reserve is worked out together with the vehicles, hotels and the team's working time.

The contract sets out how changes are approved and how the services actually used are paid for. Neither the logistics operator nor the presence of extra vehicles guarantees the summit.

Accommodation and meals for partner groups

Town accommodation, tents and the Tejos refuge are described separately, night by night. The type of tent, the number of places, pitching and bedding are not assumed without an explicit line.

Meals are quoted by day and by location. The client sends allergies and restrictions in advance, and the local team confirms whether a special menu is possible.

Infrastructure in the high Atacama

Water, toilets, electricity, charging, signal and internet all vary by camp and by season. The B2B matrix states what is provided and what participants supply themselves.

Vehicle support does not remove the need for self-sufficiency. The group leader must have navigation, communications, a first-aid kit and a plan for when the road is impassable.

What to send us for an Ojos del Salado B2B quote

  • The route by day, camp and altitude
  • The team's previous acclimatisation
  • The number of clients, guides and staff
  • The number of vehicles and passengers, and the volume of baggage
  • Your requirements for tents and refuges
  • The catering plan and any dietary restrictions
  • Whether you need local and Russian-speaking guides
  • Reserve days and the contingency plan
  • The contract and closing-document format

For each point on the route, please state:

  • The date and expected arrival time of the group
  • The number of clients, guides, drivers and support staff
  • The planned overnight stop and the fallback
  • The water, food and fuel required
  • The group and rescue equipment required
  • Who decides if the road is closed

Once agreed, each line is given a unit of measurement and a limit. Wording such as "everything necessary" or "full service" does not go into the contract, because it cannot be checked against delivery.

If anything is missing, we come back with a single list of queries: overnight stops, vehicles, baggage, meals, guides, documents and reserve. We do not fill a quote with assumptions that later turn into extra charges.

The final version carries the duty team's contacts, the procedure for confirming movement each day, and how changes reach the drivers and camps. The client decides in advance which of their staff receive these messages and who is entitled to change the plan.
