Southern Tanzania 4×4: Ruaha, Udzungwa, Mikumi and Nyerere

The southern half of Tanzania that the safari market usually skips: the wide spaces of Ruaha and Nyerere, the montane forest of Udzungwa and several different forms of safari in one route.

A guaranteed Mountain Guide group departure is scheduled. The route is published in a working edition. The price and the exact composition of services will be added once the accommodation, the permits and the local team have been confirmed.

Day 1.

Assembly in Mbeya and the drive across the southern highlands.

Day 2.

Transfer to Ruaha with stops on the way, and an evening game drive.

Day 3.

Ruaha: a full day of game viewing.

Day 4.

Ruaha: a second full day of game viewing.

Day 5.

Ruaha: a walking safari, only with an authorised ranger.

Day 6.

Transfer to Udzungwa.

Day 7.

Udzungwa: the full walking route to the Sanje Falls, or an option of equal value.

Day 8.

Mikumi: a game-viewing day as a logical link, not as a replacement for Ruaha or Nyerere.

Day 9.

Transfer to Nyerere.

Day 10.

Nyerere: a full day of game viewing.

Day 11.

Nyerere: a boat on the Rufiji and a walking component.

Day 12.

Transfer to Dar es Salaam, end of the trip.
